A revolutionary, high energy basketball academy that can only be found at the Hoop Beaverton. Conducted by some of the most respected instructors. Emphasis will be on skill development, fundamentals and drills that will take them to the next level!


Boys/Girls Grades 4-11

  • Dates: December 9th - February 20th
    (10 WEEKS!)
    Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm.

  • No academy during the week of Christmas and New Years. (December 22nd - January 2nd)

  • Fridays will be a scrimmage day from 4:30 to 6:00 for $10 per session.

  • Price: $549.00 ($499.00 for returning Fall Hoop
    Academy participants)


This Academy is continuing to grow with more and more popularity. The club provides the athlete with a multifaceted array of skills to ensure championship success.

Coaches include one of the best basketball staffs the area has to offer, Jerry Walker, Laurie Vizzini, Jon Hildebrandt and Lamar Hurd.


Hoop Elite Program
Hoop Elite qualifiers will practice Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00PM. (same times as regular academy)

*Participants will be evaluated during the first week for the Elite Academy.

Laurie Vizzini, a Tigard High School grad, played for the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers, winning 3 National Championships from 1996-1998. Laurie is the first player (man or woman) in the history of college basketball to play in 4 consecutive Final Four Championship games, winning 3 rings. In 1994 Laurie received the Kodak All-American, Street & Smith Top 20, and USA.

Jerry Walker, attended ETSU where he later served in the Army. Thereafter, he played ten years with the Harlem All-Stars. Spending seven years coaching through Tualatin Hills, 4 years with Legends, and Portland Elite. He also has worked through the Nike program instruction of fundamentals and fitness drills. He currently is a basketball trainer at the Hoop in Beaverton.

Jon Hildebrandt, A master with ball handling and has produced several videos (Superhandles). Jon led his HS to two consecutive Oregon State Titles, named BCI All-American Junior year, In Junior College led Northwest in assist in 2003, Jon averaged 14pts game at Linfield while shooting 50% from 3pts.

Lamar Hurd, Won 3 state titles in Texas, while leading Heritage Christian to a USA Today Top 25 national ranking. Lamar was the starting point guard for Oregon State University from 2002-2006. He received All-Pac 10 Honors, shared the team's MVP award and was named to the Pac-10 All Academic first team. In 2005, he captained an Athletes In Action team that traveled to East Asia. Lamar followed his college career by playing professionally in Germany, considered to be on of Europe's top pro basketball leagues. Lamar is currently the Director of Basketball at The Hoop. Rosie Contri, played basketball at Douglas High School in Nevada. She was both a starter and captain for three years, and was inducted into the Douglas High School Hall of Fame. After high school, Rosie captained her team at Willamette University in Salem. She then went on to a professional basketball career in Opladen, Germany where she not oly started, but also served as team captain.
